What ALC Respite Care Really Means

When my family and I were caring for a loved one, one of the most difficult pieces was finding someone who could "take over" her care while we were away. It wasn't hard yet at the same time, there was so much.
"Watch her,
make sure she eats,
remind her to shower,
make sure she brushes her teeth,
turn the TV on to something she likes"
...and the list goes on. Does this sound familiar to you?
We tried traditional care giving services but there just wasn't the dignity and compassion. We checked out Christian Science visiting nurses, but we were paying out of pocket and that was too pricey for us on a long term basis. We asked family members, friends and even our older teenage kids to care for our loved ones when we had to step away. Those people were all wonderful, but you can only ask so much! One time we even flew in a dear family friend from Hawaii to be with her for a week. It was a true gift of love!
Abiding Love Companionship (ALC) is here to be that gift of love. It brings a whole different level of respite care beyond the traditional private companies. ALC offers loving and trustworthy care, someone who brings the same metaphysical understanding, who steps in while you and your family aren't available.
ALC respite care offers temporary companionship and practical support so that:
You know your loved one is wrapped in the arms of divine Love
You can step away or take a break with confidence
Your loved one continues to feel supported and respected in a dignified manner
Whether it’s for a few days, a week, or during a particularly demanding season, respite care creates space to breathe.
If this resonates with you, give me a call or send me an email to explore how we can help you! It would be my pleasure!
